The update comes after reports surfaced earlier that Floyd Mayweather was being held in Dubai against his wishes for unpaid dues in the country. However, days later, other reports suggested the undefeated boxer had resurfaced in Las Vegas. Not long after, Mayweather teased an exhibition bout against an unknown opponent, which later turned out to be former rival Victor Ortiz.

But! In yet another twist, the former world champion removed the post, where he teased the 24 August fight. In a subsequent Instagram story, Floyd Mayweather hinted at still being “stuck in Dubai,” contradicting the previous reports of his arrival in the United States. And now, sources say ‘Money’ failed to appear at the press conference in Mexico for his exhibition fight.

In the meantime, a report from WBN suggests Mayweather’s absence from the press conference has left organizers and journalists scratching their heads, wondering what led to Mayweather’s no-show. Also, Victor Ortiz, who seemingly was supposed to face the five division champion, was dropped from the main event of the night.

The Mexican government, actively involved in organizing the event in their country, has also expressed disdain about Mayweather’s actions amid the chaos. While things don’t look good for the Ortiz fight, here’s a walk down the memory lane to Mayweather and Ortiz’s first fight.

Floyd Mayweather bought a gold mine allegedly

Talking about one of his clients, Wack 100 brought up all the headlines suggesting Mayweather was stuck in Dubai. But in reality, the record executive said, “Me and Floyd were in his penthouse on Wilshire at the top meeting. And I’m like, ‘bro, what are they talking about?’ He said, ‘I guess I’m stuck in Dubai.’”

Floyd responds to Gervonta Davis’ allegations

However, Mayweather debunked the ‘Stuck in Dubai’ story properly through an Instagram story.

A few days ago, ‘Pretty Boy’ hopped on the platform to share an image of himself in Dubai with the caption that read, “BREAKING NEWS FLOYD MAYWEATHER STUCK IN DUBAI.” It was, of course, meant to be a playful jab at his former starfighter Gervonta Davis, who had started the rumors of his confinement in Dubai.

evin Haney’s father has launched a scathing attack on Floyd Mayweather Jr after Ryan Garcia’s B-sample test results were revealed on Wednesday.

Garcia is facing a lengthy suspension after his B-sample came back with a positive test for Ostarine, a banned substance and a known performance-enhancing drug (PED)

It could mean that the New York State Athletic Commission could rule in favor of Haney, who submitted an appeal to overturn the result of his defeat to Garcia on April 20.

“Floyd Mayweather, come out of them bushes hiding and playing and capping,” Bill Haney said on social media. “On April 20th, you was skinning and grinning from ear to ear. You was happy to tell the world about the 3.2 lbs that you helped Ryan Garcia come in overweight with.

“Now that he tested positive for four PEDs, now you want to head for the hills and go quiet like you in Dubai somewhere. Well, I’m going to tell you, Floyd, wherever you’re at, what we and the world want to know is. We know you were the middle man to Ryan Garcia’s, but what we want to know is are you the middle man to the steroids?”

Haney Sr has been defiant in getting the word out about Garcia’s alleged failed drugs test.

However, the American boxer’s legal team issued a statement saying they had a hair follicle test done and it came back negative.

“For example, my uncle Roger (Mayweather), it got really bad for him, so I ended up hiring someone to take care of him, and the same thing is happening to my dad (Floyd Sr.).”
