The fight between YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul and former world champion Mike Tyson on 20 July in Texas has been postponed.

The bout at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, had been officially sanctioned as a professional fight but Tyson, 57, says he has been unable to train after a recent ulcer flare up.

“Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” said Tyson.

“My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon.”

Organisers have not mentioned light-welterweight champion Katie Taylor’s rematch with Amanda Serrano, which was due to take place on the same night, but it is anticipated it will also be moved with the rest of the card.

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), who are staging the event at the 80,000 capacity stadium alongside Netflix, said a new date for the fight will be announced on 7 June.

“The recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations,” MVP said.

“Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level.

“The health and wellbeing of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself.”

Tyson, who would have turned 58 at the time of the fight and whose professional career ended in 2005, most recently competed in an exhibition bout in 2020.

He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles in 1987 but his reign as unified champion came to a shock end in 1990 as he was beaten by Buster Douglas in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

Paul, 27, is 30 years younger than Tyson and has won nine of his 10 fights, mostly against former UFC fighters, with his solitary defeat coming against British boxer Tommy Fury in February 2023.

He added: “I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night.”

Paul said he did not want to face Tyson “at anything but his best”.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will take on former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson; fight has been postponed with new date expected to be announced next week

The highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has been postponed after Tyson experienced a health scare, according to organisers.

A statement released on Friday noted that the decision was made to ensure both athletes have equal training time and can compete at their highest level.

“The upcoming highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will unfortunately be postponed.

“During a follow-up consultation on Thursday with medical professionals on his recent ulcer flare up, the recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations,” the statement read.

Organisers emphasised the importance of prioritizing the health and well-being of the fighters, stating, “Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level.”

The statement further added, “The health and well-being of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself.”

While Tyson is expected to return to his full training schedule in the coming weeks, the organizers acknowledged the need to reschedule the fight, which was initially set to take place at AT&T Stadium.

“MVP anticipates rescheduling the match to later this year at AT&T Stadium, and we look forward to an exciting and well-prepared contest between these two exceptional athletes,” the statement read.

The new date for the highly anticipated fight is set to be announced by next Friday, June 7th, as Tyson continues to recover and prepare for the match against the younger Paul.

The upcoming boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson on July 20 has been postponed.

Tyson experienced a health issue on a flight from Los Angeles to Miami that required medical attention Sunday. Initially, it didn’t appear that it would affect the fight, but that has changed after Tyson’s most recent health checkup.

“During a follow up consultation on Thursday with medical professionals on his recent ulcer flare up, the recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations,” read an official statement.

A new fight date is expected to be announced June 7, and AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, remains the desired location.

“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” Tyson said in a statement. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”

Tyson vs. Paul was sanctioned as a professional bout scheduled for eight two-minute rounds and contested at heavyweight with 14-ounce gloves. Tyson, 57, hasn’t won a professional boxing match since 2003. If and when they step into the ring, the fight will feature the largest age gap in professional boxing history with Tyson turning 58 on June 30 and YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul being 27.

The fight was to be livestreamed on Netflix.

“I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night,” Paul said in a statement. “My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake — when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish. Paul vs. Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”

Things have gone from bad to worse for legendary five division champion Floyd Mayweather! According to a report from The Source, ‘Money’ Mayweather has landed himself in hot waters yet again after allegations surfaced, suggesting Mayweather scammed Mexican promoters out of a staggering $1 million.

The update comes after reports surfaced earlier that Floyd Mayweather was being held in Dubai against his wishes for unpaid dues in the country. However, days later, other reports suggested the undefeated boxer had resurfaced in Las Vegas. Not long after, Mayweather teased an exhibition bout against an unknown opponent, which later turned out to be former rival Victor Ortiz.

But! In yet another twist, the former world champion removed the post, where he teased the 24 August fight. In a subsequent Instagram story, Floyd Mayweather hinted at still being “stuck in Dubai,” contradicting the previous reports of his arrival in the United States. And now, sources say ‘Money’ failed to appear at the press conference in Mexico for his exhibition fight.

In the meantime, a report from WBN suggests Mayweather’s absence from the press conference has left organizers and journalists scratching their heads, wondering what led to Mayweather’s no-show. Also, Victor Ortiz, who seemingly was supposed to face the five division champion, was dropped from the main event of the night.

The Mexican government, actively involved in organizing the event in their country, has also expressed disdain about Mayweather’s actions amid the chaos. While things don’t look good for the Ortiz fight, here’s a walk down the memory lane to Mayweather and Ortiz’s first fight.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz: A controversial end

Floyd Mayweather Accused of Another $1 Million Scam Involving Recent Fight Announcement Amid “Stuck in Dubai” Debacle

All the way back in September 2011, ‘Money’ Mayweather and Ortiz went toe-to-toe for the latter’s WBC welterweight strap! The now retired boxer was coming off sixteen months of inactivity from the sport, and what happened during the fight made it Mayweather’s most controversial fight so far.

Floyd Mayweather’s whereabouts have become somewhat of a mystery over the past few days. Earlier this month, Gervonta Davis alleged the five division champion was stuck in Dubai because of some unpaid dues. Something controversial boxing matchmaker Rick Glaser had confirmed, but the narrative has taken a sharp turn, as new information about Floyd Mayweather has made it on the internet.

A while back, record executive and businessman Wack 100 appeared in the Hollywood Unlocked podcast alongside Jason Lee, where the reality of Mayweather’s whereabouts became a topic of discussion. The unfolding events that followed flung wide open the Mayweather saga, debunking claims from Davis and others who asserted Mayweather’s confinement in Dubai.

Floyd Mayweather bought a gold mine allegedly

Talking about one of his clients, Wack 100 brought up all the headlines suggesting Mayweather was stuck in Dubai. But in reality, the record executive said, “Me and Floyd were in his penthouse on Wilshire at the top meeting. And I’m like, ‘bro, what are they talking about?’ He said, ‘I guess I’m stuck in Dubai.’”

Amidst the swirling rumors, Mayweather’s absence in Mexico for his exhibition rematch with Victor Ortiz added another layer of intrigue. The cancellation of the event coupled with allegations of a $1 million scam involving Mayweather further fueled the controversy. However, even the host of the show, Jason Lee, suggested he had spoken to Mayweather during this time and nothing seemed out of the ordinary!

Wack 100 jumped as he asserted that he also tried to check up on Floyd because of the rumors, to which the five division champion laughed. Nevertheless, the record executive asked the host, “You know why he was in Dubai?” In response, Lee answered, “The gold deal.” Giving a seal of approval, Wack 100 elaborated, “He did a gold mine. He bought into a gold mine.”

However, it’s worth mentioning that even these claims are hearsay, and nothing has been proven quite yet. Neither has Floyd Mayweather confirmed the existence of such a deal in Dubai, but his appearance in Las Vegas amid the rumors suggests the ‘stuck in Dubai’ angle might not be completely true.

Floyd responds to Gervonta Davis’ allegations

A few days ago, ‘Pretty Boy’ hopped on the platform to share an image of himself in Dubai with the caption that read, “BREAKING NEWS FLOYD MAYWEATHER STUCK IN DUBAI.” It was, of course, meant to be a playful jab at his former starfighter Gervonta Davis, who had started the rumors of his confinement in Dubai.

In a nutshell, with everything that has come to light in the past few weeks, it seems like Mayweather might not be stuck in the oil rich country. In addition, the statements from Jason Lee and Wack 100 prove the multi millionaire boxer is well and free. What are your thoughts about the whole situation?

After Davis’ assertion and Glaser’s support for the said assertions, Mayweather appeared in LA for the Clippers vs. Mavericks in the NBA playoffs. Not just that, ‘Money’ Mayweather seems to have donated $30,000 to a group of homeless men in downtown LA after the game. However, Mayweather debunked the ‘Stuck in Dubai’ story properly through an Instagram story.

evin Haney’s father has launched a scathing attack on Floyd Mayweather Jr after Ryan Garcia’s B-sample test results were revealed on Wednesday.

Garcia is facing a lengthy suspension after his B-sample came back with a positive test for Ostarine, a banned substance and a known performance-enhancing drug (PED)

It could mean that the New York State Athletic Commission could rule in favor of Haney, who submitted an appeal to overturn the result of his defeat to Garcia on April 20.

But in addition to that, Haney Sr wants to know if former world champion boxer Mayweather was the “middleman” for Garcia gaining access to the PED that he allegedly tested positive for.

He also claimed that Ryan tested positive for “four PEDs” for his fight against WBC light welterweight champion Haney for their fight on April 20.

Floyd Mayweather, come out of them bushes hiding and playing and capping,” Bill Haney said on social media. “On April 20th, you was skinning and grinning from ear to ear. You was happy to tell the world about the 3.2 lbs that you helped Ryan Garcia come in overweight with.

“Now that he tested positive for four PEDs, now you want to head for the hills and go quiet like you in Dubai somewhere. Well, I’m going to tell you, Floyd, wherever you’re at, what we and the world want to know is. We know you were the middle man to Ryan Garcia’s, but what we want to know is are you the middle man to the steroids?”

How has Ryan Garcia’s camp reacted?

Devin Haney's father hurls accusatory question at Floyd Mayweather Jr. about Ryan Garcia and steroids

Haney Sr has been defiant in getting the word out about Garcia’s alleged failed drugs test.

However, the American boxer’s legal team issued a statement saying they had a hair follicle test done and it came back negative.

Garcia, 25, has insisted he is innocent and “not a cheater”

“I feel hurt and damaged by the accusations that are put on me. I know for a fact that I am not a cheater,” Garcia told DAZN earlier this week.

“I’ve never been a cheater. I’ve put in so much work my whole life, and one of my greatest victories has a little bit of an asterisk because of a lie. I’m genuinely hurt. I cry at night sometimes just knowing that they are trying to taint my victory.”

t’s been a decade since singer Ray J and retored boxer Floyd Mayweather had a falling out over a shared love interest. At the time when Ray J really started dating Princess Love Norwood, Floyd famously dated the celebrity before his friend. In the end, Ray J married Princess Love but he is currently estranged from her. Recently, the TV personality appeared on the Shannon Sharpe show to talk about personal stuff and got around to discussing his falling out with Floyd. Right now, Ray J is no longer friends with Mayweather and he is not in speaking terms with his wife. Although he did make a plea for someday fixing his relationship with the former boxer

The entire event took place a decade ago and none of them have spoken since. Ray J sat down with Sharpe to talk about his career and that’s when he got a little emotional speaing about his falling out with Mayweather. Also, he left an open door for a potential reconciliation. He said: “It was weird because I really liked her and she was still kind of like in a situation with P.B. Because I loved her. He [Floyd Mayweather] didn’t love her. I’ve seen him out and it’s all love. I don’t have any issues and he doesn’t either. But our friendship is not there no more. Not that he gives a f*ck. I got nothing but love for [Floyd Mayweather], and that’s so long ago, I’m sure he’s good now.”

This is a love triangle situation that happens in regular life more often than one thinks, it’s been happening for a long time. Friendships can be destroyed for love while relationships get stronger because of the same reason. Meanwhile, Princess Love is living a great career in television and enjoying life without her estranged husband. She is truly a star of reality TV shows and other series from various streaming services. It remains to be seen if this friendship will ever go back to good terms, only time will tell.

nown for his excellent defense that left him virtually untouched in his fights, 47-year-old Floyd Mayweather Jr.has revealed that he is starting to experience the early effects of his brilliant boxing career.

He acknowledged that he has begun practicing mental agility exercises to prevent neurological deterioration, similar to what other members of his boxing family have suffered.

In the Mayweather family, both Floyd Sr. and his uncle, Roger, require special care due to neurological damage that has resulted in memory loss. This problem has also started to affect Floyd Jr.

“The memory loss could be from boxing, or it could be something that runs in the family,” he said in an interview on the podcast Come and Talk 2 Me with Ma$e, Cam’ron, and Treasure ‘Stat Baby’ Wilson.

“For example, my uncle Roger (Mayweather), it got really bad for him, so I ended up hiring someone to take care of him, and the same thing is happening to my dad (Floyd Sr.).”

Throughout his career, ‘Money’ was known for his elusiveness, primarily using the ‘shoulder roll’ technique – a sideways stance that his father and uncle also popularized in the 1980s, allowing them to dodge opponents’ punches with quick waist movements.

Mayweather Jr. took this further, achieving an undefeated career with 50 fights and 27 knockouts.

“It might be something genetic in the family. Even I feel that mentally I’m not 100 percent like before. I like to do different exercises, puzzles, word games, to keep my mind healthy,” said Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Life After Boxing for Floyd Mayweather

Mayweather Jr. retired at 40 in August 2017. Since then, he has participated in some exhibition matches, though he has declined to fight former boxers, stating that he has accomplished everything in boxing. In his exhibition bouts, he tries to avoid taking significant damage from his opponents.

However, it seems the former boxer has started to show signs of erratic behavior. Recently, he missed two scheduled commitments in Mexico without any explanation.

Mayweather was supposed to hold a press conference to promote an exhibition fight at the Arena Ciudad de México and conduct a mass boxing class for city residents.

Mayweather failed to show up and did not inform the organizers in Mexico. He even deleted the promotional content for his fight in Mexico from his social media.

After several days, he reappeared and reposted the event poster: “Mexico, I’ll see you soon. Stay tuned for details about the upcoming exhibition,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

However, in the new poster, the fighter did not announce who his opponent would be, leaving the organization of the event unclear.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced Saturday he and John Gotti III agreed to a rematch on Aug. 24 in Mexico City.

The pair previously fought in June 2023. The exhibition was ended in the sixth round. Gotti continued to throw punches at Mayweather after the stoppage, which sparked a wider brawl in and out of the ring.

Gotti, who’s the grandson of the late New York mob boss John Gotti, told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour shortly after the event he was open to a return encounter. He said Mayweather might have a hard time turning down the idea based on how much attention they generated from their post-fight melee.

Mayweather previously announced the two would square off during the week of Super Bowl LVIII. However, that came to nothing.

The 47-year-old has maintained his retirement from boxing after beating UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017 and running his record to a perfect 50-0. Since then, he has scheduled a series of exhibitions, making no bones about the fact he’s getting paid handsomely for much less work than would be required in an official fight.

Gotti got his combat sports career started in MMA, debuting in 2017 and compiling a 5-1 record before pivoting to boxing. He’s 2-0 so far as a professional.
