A source close to Fury said the fighter had not had a drink for more than a year adding: “He had a couple too many and wasn’t feeling too well either.”

Another video taken by a motorist while waiting to collect her son showed Fury crawling on his hands and knees outside the bar with his head on the pavement.

“He’s previously used booze as a coping mechanism, which for any sufferer of ADHD is never a good idea.

“But given he’s been drinking again after such a high-profile defeat, there is a fear within his camp that more than ever, his support network needs to be ready to safeguard him through what could be a particularly testing stage of his life.

“He has never lost a professional boxing match before so they’re in uncharted territory in regards to anticipating how he’ll deal with it.

The Gypsy King suffered a well-publicised fall from grace in 2015 following his shock victory over ]\ which saw him balloon to 28 stone and sparked a three-year absence from the ring.

He sunk into a drink and drug fuelled  as he struggled to deal with the fame and fortune the shock victory bestowed on him.

DJ Scott Shearing, defended Fury and told how he happily posed for pictures with dozens of fans and even gave one young girl £20.

Posting a picture of Fury online, he added: “I’m sure you’ve all seen the video of being escorted out of Nowhere on FB. Lots of people with plenty to say.

“The man is a bl**dy legend, multi millionaire and yet he is still just like you or me. He goes out shopping, just like you.

“Goes to the pub just like you, maybe gets drunk just like you too. I get he is a public figure but he is only human.

“He was in the Strawbs Fri for a good few hours and they were all singing and keeping to themselves.

“Lots of people asked to have their picture taken with him. He took the time to do this in fact a young girl I know had her picture with him and he gave her £20.

“The man has a heart and feelings for god sake. In boxing he is a legend regardless of his last fight however he is proud to live in Morecambe and always mentions us.

“Money and fame can bring its own problems when the temptation for excess of anything is there and available, be it buying fancy cars, houses or going out drinking it must be hard to cope with mentally.

“Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t turn it down but your every move is in the spotlight.

“He has his own demons with mental health and all that goes along with it but let’s show the man some respect for his achievements and love of Morecambe.

Sky Sports Boxing’s Johnny Nelson has questioned the future of Tyson Fury: “What more can he do? How can he improve from that? This defeat would have done his head in and his heart in.”; Fury suffered the first loss of his career as he was beaten via split decision by Oleksandr Usyk

Roy Jones Jr has told talkSPORT that Anthony Joshua may end up holding the key to Tyson Fury’s heavyweight return.

The Gypsy King was dethroned of his WBC crown by  in May, and the Ukrainian emerged from their battle as undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion.

Usyk has since vacated his IBF belt, but will defend the WBA, WBC and WBO in his rematch with Fury, which is planned for December 21.

Meanwhile, that vacated IBF strap now belongs to When he beat Usyk’s mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic in June, Dubois claimed the IBF ‘interim’ belt, and so was upgraded to become the full champion after the Ukrainian gave it up.

“I think Joshua is gonna be the favourite because of his past,” Jones Jr told talkSPORT Drive when asked about that fight.

Anthony Joshua could hand Tyson Fury world title lifeline if he loses to Oleksandr Usyk again, says Roy Jones Jr

“He just had a great fight with Francis Ngannou, but Ngannou is not Daniel Dubois.

“So it’s gonna be interesting for a few rounds, but if Joshua goes out and it’s the Joshua we wanna see, I think he’ll be dominant and be victorious.

As Jones Jr rightly pointed out, AJ is indeed the favourite in that fight.

Likewise, Usyk is the favourite to defeat Fury again on December 21.

Asked if he believes Fury will become champion again, Jones Jr replied: “I don’t know because here’s the thing.

“I feel like if Joshua wins the title and if Usyk is able to beat Fury again, then the next fight I think people in the UK will wanna see will be Fury vs Joshua for Joshua’s title.

“And that’s a 50/50 fight to me. A real pick ’em.”

In this scenario, AJ would be the defending IBF world champion and offering Fury a lifeline to resurrect his career.

Time will tell how things play out in the fascinating heavyweight landscape.

The British heavyweight fight which everyone wants to see between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could take place in the UK; watch Fury’s undisputed heavyweight championship fight against Oleksandr Usyk on May 18, live on Sky Sports Box Office

There is a chance Anthony Joshua could fight Tyson Fury next after Oleksandr Usyk, Top Rank’s Bob Arum has revealed, and it might yet take place at Wembley Stadium.

Fury meets Usyk in their undisputed heavyweight championship fight on May 18, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

That historic showdown is widely expected to lead to a rematch.

Fury’s leading rival from the UK is former champion Joshua, who is now on a three-fight winning streak, and an all-British showdown between the pair would be another major event.

“Looking at Tyson Fury, if he beats Usyk and fights Usyk again and beats him and then does a massive fight hopefully in the UK at Wembley Stadium against Joshua, that would really put an exclamation point to his great career,” Arum, who co-promotes Fury, told Sky Sports.

Fury vs Joshua could even happen sooner than that. If the Briton is victorious on May 18, Usyk potentially could be incentivised to step aside and allow Joshua to challenge Fury next.

“There’s always a chance when there’s one entity putting up the money, as in this case the sovereign fund, the entertainment division in Saudi Arabia, they can have a tremendous influence on the fighters and maybe if Fury is successful they can make it worthwhile to Usyk to step aside to allow a Joshua fight to happen this year,” Arum added.

Fury will be boxing for the second consecutive time in Riyadh next month against Usyk. But a fight with Joshua would not necessarily be staged in Saudi Arabia.

“The Saudis also, with having all this money, who can dictate the place, are also very intelligent and they would, I think, like nothing more than to do that fight in Wembley with 95,000 people where they were the promoters,” Arum said.

“I think that would do more for their image than doing that fight, Fury and Joshua, in Saudi. But that’s up to them. That’s what I feel in talking to them briefly about the future.”

That future, for the time being, is uncertain. Fury vs Usyk pits the two best heavyweights in the world against each other, with all four major titles on the line. Closely matched, it will be fiercely contested.

“Let’s not put the cart before the horse. May 18 is an awfully competitive, really competitive, heavyweight championship fight for all the marbles,” Arum said.

“He will give Tyson Fury everything Tyson can handle. So hopefully the Tyson that shows up on May 18 is not the Tyson that fought [Francis] Ngannou and I really believe from the reports I get that Tyson has really buckled down and is training very, very hard for this.

“I can’t wait to see that fight.”

has been suspended from boxing just days after his loss to Oleksandr Usyk in their highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight title fight. The match, held in Saudi Arabia, marked the first defeat of Fury’s professional career, with Usyk securing a split-decision victory to claim the title.

Fury, known as the ‘Gypsy King,’ lost his WBC heavyweight world title to Usyk, who now holds the distinction of being the first undisputed heavyweight champion in over two decades. The bout was a grueling encounter, with Usyk appearing to damage Fury’s nose in the eighth round. Despite a valiant effort, Fury struggled to recover and was forced to take a standing count in the ninth round after enduring a fierce onslaught from Usyk.

Fury managed to reach the final bell, but the judges’ scores reflected Usyk’s dominance, with two judges favoring Usyk and one siding with Fury. Following the fight, both boxers received medical suspensions. Usyk, who boxed under a licence from the United Arab Emirates Commission, was handed a 14-day medical suspension due to an impacted tooth implant, ruling him out of action until June 2.

‘The Gypsy King’ Receives A Shorter Suspension Than Usyk

Fury, who fought under a Nevada license, received a shorter suspension of one week, according to  This means Fury will be eligible to return to the ring from Saturday. The British Boxing Board of Control, which oversaw the undercard fights, reportedly had no knowledge of Usyk’s brief ban or Fury’s suspension, which only came to light on Friday.

In the post-fight press conference, Fury, showing signs of the brutal contest, hinted at his future plans. “I’m fresh out of the fight, as you can see from my face I’m a bit busted up. And he’s gone to hospital with a broken jaw and he’s busted too,” Fury remarked. “So we’ve punched the s*** out of each other for 12 rounds there. I’m going to go home, eat some food, drink some beers, have some family time, walk the dog, go to the tip. And me and Frank [Warren] will talk about what’s going to happen in the future.”

While Usyk has a medical check following the fight, he did not suffer a broken jaw. The Ukrainian pugulist suffered several bruises to his hands and his face.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has confirmed that he will activate his rematch clause. The rematch is expected to take place at the end of the year or in 2025.

Tyson Fury is the leading heavyweight contender in the latest WBC rankings following confirmation that Anthony Joshua, the previous WBC mandatory, will challenge the IBF titlist Daniel Dubois in September.

Joshua has been removed from the ratings as per WBC policy regarding fighters competing for rival belts. Taking his place in the Top 15, at number 15, is Sweden’s Otto Wallin, who Joshua knocked out in December. Oleksandr Usyk is the WBC champion.

There is still no place for Joseph Parker because he holds the needless WBO interim title. Zhilei Zhang, who lost to Parker in March, is ranked third and Deontay Wilder, outpointed by Parker in December, is 14th.

Johnny Fisher enters for the first time following his recent 36-second knockout victory over Alen Babic. The Romford ticket-seller is rated at 38, but Babic keeps his place at bridgerweight, where he can be found at 15th.

To be clear for those who didn’t click the link. Wallin hasn’t replaced Joshua… he’s just moved up to 15 as a result of Joshua exiting the rankings.

Undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are set to meet in a rematch on 21 December, according to the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment authority.

Usyk beat Fury by split decision to become the first undisputed champion of the four-belt era on 18 May.

A rematch was said to be in the works for October but Turki Alalshikh says the date has been pushed back to December.

“The world will watch another historical fight again,” Alashikh added on X.

“Our commitment to boxing fans continues. We hope you enjoy it.”

Usyk, the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999, added Fury’s WBC belt to his WBA, WBO and IBF collection when they fought in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

The 37-year-old Ukrainian has won all 22 of his professional fights.

Alashikh did not name a venue or destination for the rematch but stated it would take place “during Riyadh Season”.

Riyadh Season is an entertainment festival held every winter since its launch in 2019 which has hosted a number of high profile boxing events.

The contest would give Briton Fury, 35, the opportunity to gain revenge after tasting defeat for the first time in his 16-year professional career against Usyk.

It is unlikely that all four belts will be on the line in the rematch with the IBF planning to strip Usyk as he will not be facing its mandatory challenger next.

However Usyk has requested an “exception” to keep hold of the belt for the rematch.

The IBF will told BBC Sport their “board of directors” would meet to discuss the request.

‘Christmas cracker in Saudi’

Analysis by BBC Sport journalist Kal Sajad

Usyk and Fury had agreed a two-fight deal but there were still some doubts as to whether the rematch would happen. But if Alalshikh says it’s happening, then it usually is – so you can start preparing yourself for a Christmas cracker in Saudi.

The first contest lived up to the pre-fight hype. Pundits predicted a dull, technical battle but instead we got a dramatic back-and-forth encounter.

Usyk is one of the smartest fighters in the history of the sport. His ability to read a fight and adapt accordingly is staggering. Having already shared 12 rounds with Fury, he will be looking for a more dominant win.

Fury appeared to be in control during the first half of the bout and will feel that with the right adjustments he can become a three-time world champion.

If Usyk is forced to vacate the IBF title, promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested the winner of Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois, who fight in Riyadh on Saturday, could face Anthony Joshua for the vacant belt in September at Wembley Stadium.

If Fury beats Usyk and Joshua wins the IBF belt, could we see Fury-AJ for all of the titles in 2025?
